ABOUT EQUIPMETRIC

Built from the questions that show up before another piece of equipment gets financed.

EquipMetric started from a small-operator problem: a monthly payment is easy to calculate, but that does not tell you whether a specific trailer or machine is a good addition to a rental business.

The problem

Small rental operators routinely have to answer several questions at once: What are comparable units renting for nearby? How many paid days does this payment need? What should the asset cost? What happens in a slow month? What cash is needed to make it rental-ready? Is there a better unit within driving distance? And what facts still need to be verified before money changes hands?

Those questions are usually spread across Marketplace listings, dealer pages, payment calculators, spreadsheets, memory and guesswork. EquipMetric is an attempt to organize them into one transparent decision process.

What EquipMetric is trying to be

The product is not trying to become a generic all-in-one rental-management platform. Its core job is capital-allocation decision support for small equipment-rental operators: research the market, stress-test a purchase, preserve the original assumptions, compare actual ownership outcomes later, and make the next decision with better evidence.

How trust is supposed to work

A favorable score should never be the only reason to trust a report. EquipMetric is designed to show the evidence count, confidence, assumptions, local-vs-regional distinction, downside sensitivity, price ceiling, model limitations and facts that still require verification.

Modeled estimates stay separate from owner-reported actuals. Partner compensation cannot change the underwriting math. Thin evidence is supposed to remain visibly thin rather than being presented as precise ground truth.

Beta philosophy

The current beta is intentionally open so real operators can find bad assumptions, confusing language, edge cases and places where the product is too confident. A report that says INCOMPLETE—or withholds a signal—is more useful than a polished answer built on missing inputs.
